Non-Newtonian natural convection cooling of a heat source of variable length and position placed at the bottom of a square cavity

Natural convection cooling of a heat source placed at the bottom wall square cavity filled with non-Newtonian fluid was investigated numerically. Two thermal conditions were assumed (imposed temperature or flux density). The effects Rayleigh number (Ran), rheological index (n), length (SL), its position (D), and Prandtl (Prn) analyzed. For centered source. three first parameters varied. results show an increase in dynamic fields? perturbations when Ran increases and/or SL n decreases. These observations are clearer heating type compared to second. Mean Nusselt is recorded decreases, while it decreases until SL=1.0 where new recorded. non-centered source, previous still valid, noting loss symmetry. highest mean rate exchange D=0.0 decreasing amounts moving towards center. Finally, Prn effect Results better diffusion for low n. Consequently, marked n<1.0, weak n=1.0 almost absent n>1.0 heating.
